If you don’t shop LOCAL you are LOCO!

Over the years our neighborhood has been evolving. Evolving to serve the needs of our new (and old) neighbors. With gas at an all time high, and people having to mortgae their homes to fill up, the message is clear. SHOP IN YOUR OWN NEIGHBORHOOD.

You may remember many years ago the revamped and rebuilt Publix. (For those newer neighbors, the Nebraska Avenue Publix is only 10 or 12 years old). It seems like each month, the neighborhood gains another QUALITY, and NEEDED business that actually serves the needs of all residents and thrived. For example, Bungalow Bistro - Very good food (Still needs to work on the timeliness and service levels) but none the less great food. As we see new businesses come in, we see  more Car Dealers, Funeral Home and Churches pack up and leave. Recently, I visited the B’gosh website (www.bgosh.org). I was very impressed with how active this group has become. Who knew the neighborhood has such a wide, vast array of businesses and services. If you have not been to their website, do yourself a favor and see what all is available to you in your own backyard.

For those unfamiliar with our neighborhood, we have Acupuncture, Antiques, Book Store, Caterers, Furniture Stores, many marketing and graphic arts firms, and a whole plethora of restaurants. Also, keep this in mind-When you shop local, you not only save money. You help build sustainable neighborhood that is a desirable place to live. (The convenience factor and higher property values are just and added bonus.)
