YOUR Blog Sets New Record!
Congratulations neighbors, Our blog is off to a great start. We are now
6 weeks old and out traffic is through the roof. Not sure exactly how/why
so many people have become loyal fans, but our numbers are staggering
for such a new site. In the past 6, almost 7 weeks, we have had 5,799
visitors (A visitor is defined as an individual IP address - One person
checking at work, then logging on at home would be 2 visitors).

What is most staggering is our page count. In our short time online,
we have had 76,124 page views. This is staggering. On August 15th
alone, we had 420 hits.
Another impressive milestone is our ranking on Google. We are already
in the 6th spot when searching “Seminole Heights Blog”.
I am so excited to be part of an outlet that allows neighbors to exchange
idea and create a venue to discuss issues that affect our neighborhoods.
Congratulations, keep it up! As I said in our first week. It is YOUR blog.
I am predicting by Labor Day, your blog will hit 100,000 page views and
be over 7500 visitors. If you have something you would like posted to
the site, please send your requests.

Dear blogmeister or Blogmiestress,
Thank you so much for continuing your hard work and efforts to keep this going. I can’t tell you enough how many conversations have been had as a direct result of the new blow. We wish you all the best with your site. Your vision is spot-on and your topics are humoroug and entertaining. Not sure how many writers you have but the amount of information is refreshing and much needed.
Here, here!
Congrats on the site. Your site has been exp. a whirlwind of success for/from all of Sem. Heights. I feel that we are powerful as a neighborhood, this site will only strengthen our voice. As this site continues to grow, I hope that it can be a useful outlet to help our neighborhood continue its forward momentum.
I don’t know if it’s on my end or your end, but all the “recent comments” listed on the left side come out as one unbroken paragraph.
The recent comments are actually links to the whole conversation. Simply click the link you want to read completely and it will take you to full page. I think that will help you tremendously.
If the page cuts off on the right (there is a bit of trouble currently viewing the entire screen), then copy the text and paste it into a WORD document and you’ll be able to read something that makes sense.
One of the reasons this blog is so successful is it actually gets updated. The other neighborhood blogs seem to get about one update a week, and most of the time it’s either a word-for-word cut from the newspaper, or something that’s also been published on every other local blog.
This blog seems to have something new every day, and not just a rehash of stuff we could get 5 other places online. Congrats.
#6- Are you kidding? If I didn’t check out the other neighborhood blogs, I wouldn’t have known about the latest release of Madden Football for XBox.
This place needs to step it up a notch!
Ha, true dat. The other blogs put some of the lamest crap out there. I think alot has to do with the amount of writers and all of their personal interests. This one does have sooooo much information and for the most part actually has to do with our neighborhood and is actually intersting enough to stir people to write comments. I used to check the other blogs but they never change, and never have comments. I finally gave up on one that has not been updated since June. The others are about every other week. I now use this one for all my neighborhood news.
Scott Banghart’s blog was great until Scott relocated out of Tampa. I still see him post there, but the new owner (?) of the blog just uses it to advertise his magazine.
There’s a few hold outs but they’re mostly the anti-corporate anarchist crowd (the folks the cheered the Starbucks vandalism) and disgruntled ex-presidents looking to regain “the good old days.”
I used to read the other blog until about a year ago. After it went down and the post stopped, I quit reading. This weekend my neighbor told me about this one. How did this blog get so popular? I spent over 2 hours reading archives this weekend. It is really good. How did it get so many readers so quickly? Is this Scott by himself without all the other authors?
I like this site as it truly is all of Seminole Heights. The other boards are tailored a bit more to their specific neighborhoods. I can get my entire neighborhood news from this site. I wish our associations would work more as one group versus 3 splintered associations. Maybe instead of a president have (3) executive leaders and a board. Having a group this large could be extremely powerful versus 3 smaller.
This site is good as it does not have a stupid a$$ photo with every single post. The others have to have some “cute” photo or catchy headline. Half the time the photos load too slow or don’t load at all. I like the content here. Most of the times the posts do not require photo. I miss the mug shots. What happened to them?
Cool site. I hooked it up on my crackberry so I can check it out when i am bored. I think it is becoming addictive.
Thank you for this blog. Not sure what is going on at the old blog. I guess it is finally going defunked. They tried doing the anon comments, but that did not work. Now they did away with recent comments. Not sure what is happening. I have finally given up for good. Thanks for creating a better, and fun site.
