Neighbor Seeks Advice.

The email below came in to share with the group. I am assuming that as the economy worsens, this will become more of a problem. We have recently encountered a similar problem on our street. Our neighbors are becoming diligent in reporting issues to the city. Hopefully, if we can report small problems in their early stages, this will eliminate dealing with larger problems later on. Read on.

Dear neighbors,

Please help! Recently the foreclosed home next door sold. Of course, the home went for way below the neighborhood market value. The new owners moved in about a month ago. We are all unsure as to how many people live in the home. We have counted at least 6 children (8 years and younger) and countless adults. They have been so busy that they have not had time to hang curtains so the towels over the window look very nice. Yet, every single weekend they have found the time to throw the front yard party to all hours of the morning. Each Saturday night the cars come and go all night long, the bonfire rages in the front yard. The children run the streets, along with the family dog. The kids walk to the Circle K and throw their candy wrappers in the street all the way home. TPD has already been called and made one arrest. The thumping radios blare all night as the constant parade of party goers goes on all night. We are at our wits end. I have lived here for many years and love the quiet peaceful neighborhood. Now these people move in and turn the entire street upside down in a matter of weeks. I met with the other neighbors and we have all come to realize that they are definitely dealing drugs. All day long the cars come and go. Usually someone will get out for a matter of minutes, then they run back out to their car and take off. What can be done. I would like to put an end to this before they get too comfortable in their new home. With only towels on the windows, it will be easy for them to pack up an leave! Thanks for your help, TJ

Know Your Neighbors.

Just a reminder that from time to time we should all log on to make sure we know our neighbors. The FDLE website has a feature which allows you to register your address. In the event that an offender moves in, an email is automatically sent to alert you. You can also type in an address to find offenders/pictures in your local area.
