Weekend Open Forum

It’s your turn to join the conversation, create a topic or answer   questions. What was once a slow time on the blog has turned into a popular piece. The weekend forum is an opportunity to discuss any issue, praise the good or discuss the bad. You decide!

Boo-Hoo Poor South Tampa Residents

From an email:

Blogger, Please share this humorous piece.

Last night my wife and I were watching the news and every station had a piece on the
South Tampa and Bayshore Neighbors boo-hooing about Gasparilla. They were shouting and making threats that if things did not change “arrest would be made.” The thing that seemed almost comical was the gentleman that was extremely demanding and firm. As he says “you people do not understand. We have drunks, public urination and public sex in alleys.” By this time I am rolling on the floor. I welcome him to our daily lives.

For one day a year Bayshore experiences what Seminole Heights sees on a daily basis. Try stepping over condoms on an almost daily or weekly basis. Pick beer cans out of your yard consistently. Chase the drug dealers of the corners every weekend…then come crying to the media. As he stood there, looked in the camera and said “you will be arrested” I am thinking BY WHO? Shall we send him the non-emergency line and see what kind of response he will get?  Maybe if these people had the opportunity to experience the prostitution, drugs and other issues that our neighbors face daily, they will lighten up on their ONE DAY!
