If you have time to cruise & post on blogs
-then plz take a few seconds to log onto the site for Land Development Coordination & Zoning to tell the city “NO” to barbed wire.
It’s not to late to say NO to “visual pollution”, etc. Hearing is tonight, Tuesday. Even if you plan to attend, go ahead use the link just in case.
If Brighthouse wants a “visual deterrent”, then plant some Bougainvillea, holly, or Crown of Thorns around the fence. (Comment this)

What was the outcome? Did anyone make it. I submitted my letter.
Randy, I was on tampagov.net and noticed the VRB roster has your name listed as Randy Barron. Just a heads up.
I heard the request was denied.
I watched it live on the tube last night - it was denied.
Thank-you to those who took the time to attend and speak up. Christie Hess, Ingrid Smith, Rick Fifer, were a few folks I recognized. Great Job you guys !
Mike Massamini was there speaking for the Land Use Committee. He opposed it, of course.
Rick Fifer spoke both as a resident as as a rep of B’Gosh.
Christie Hess poke as the SHNW group and as a resident.
Ingrid Smith Spoke as a resident.
Janie Johnston spoke as a resident.
I attended but was not allowed to speak as I am on Code Board.
The final vote was all but one against.
The Brighthouse rep got cornered after the meeting and given ideas on how to better protect the little substation without the use of barbed wire. He made the mistake of justifying the barbed wire by saying “It’s located on Nebraska Avenue. Need I say more.” Needless to say he got lambased after the meeting by several of us with Ingrid and Rick leading the troops.

Thanks Susan for the detailed update. One victory for the neighborhood.
Susan, Who was the one “for” vote? I think it’s important to learn who on our council is not in our corner on these kinds of issues.
# 7 It is “Variance Review Board” not the city council.
Which one of the board members sided with Brighthouse?
Does Brighthouse have any additional avenues/appeals to pursue on this issue, or was this variance denial final?
The VRB denied & said yr chance to wrk w/ the N.H. to find agreeable solution.
I do not know the name of the man who voted in favor of the barbed wire. But, his reason was his concern for seccuring telephone and internet access.
Brighthouse can, if they wish, appeal the decision to city council. After discussing the results with the Brighthouse rep after the meeting, I do not think they will, but, they can.

I am all for barbed wire. When was the last time you saw
Bougainvillea, holly, or Crown of Thorns used effectively in
a pro wrestling match?
