We are moving!
In a few short weeks, we will be celebrating our one year anniversary. It’s hard to believe that since our first real post on July 4th, 2008, we have continued to grow and gain readership, initiate many neighborhood discussion (often colorful ) and hopefully solved a few of the neighborhoods’ problems and issues.
As we have grown, our current blog site has had many issues keeping up with the traffic and more importantly offering any level of customer service. As a result, we have met with several local website developers and have selected a local company to build our own blog. We are now preparing to move our site to a new website. Stay tuned for the launch of our new site…Coming July 2009.
While we transition the site, I do ask for patience as we will be learning a new program and have an entirely new way of posting. Hopefully, it will be a smooth transition for all.
The new site will have many more features including better search functionality, categories, advertising opportunities and so much more. To make the change as comfortable and smooth as possible, they have pulled 100% of our prior post over the past year and are not putting the final touches to the site. Once the new site is operational, the formal announcement and URL will be posted. Until then… stay tuned!
Gonna miss this ole Blue Blog.
It had a nice homey feel to it..
I agree, I do like the ole-blue too.
With-U !!
I hope ole Blue is able to at least have a first Birthday celebration..
“Whenever I feel Blue, I start breathing again.”
Looking at the traffic on the new blog, it seems that instead of the new one getting the posts and this one withering there are now 2 dead blogs.
I agree. Maybe the blue background made trolls and bunnies feel more hidden/safe.
New one’s too sterile.
..that’s funny -The new page is sterile, so sterile that it has neutered even the trollers!
I’ll admit that like getting a new toy at Christmas, I was a twitter about the new site. But I found that I would just pop-in & get out. 3-4 minutes max. Whereas with Ole Blue, I can sit & visit for a while.. take time to get caught up or if there was nothing new, peruse thru old threads.
Ole Blue is relaxing, comfy & easy on the eyes.
Whenever I need to get caught up, especially when a hot topic is burning up this site, I can get my coffee & meander thru the postings.
The new site is pretty but sterile…& way too bright, especially at 2am.
Not very conducive to coxing one to linger.
Ole Blue has character like our lumpy-bumpy plaster walls.
New site is perfect for those who like staring at SheetRock.
..so now what?
Agree with all of the above. Like the new site, it’s also very reminiscent of Tommy’s site.. but the bright white & pastel are like the systems at work -don’t need that at home. ohhhh the Comfort of Cool Blue.
Miss the numbers since the posters haven’t seemed to figure out that they can do it themselves.
so now a Deep Blue Good-by ?

** Happy Birthday Ole Blue **
