Lawyer gets deal on sex charge
Less than a month after his arrest in a Drew Park sting, the husband of a Hillsborough circuit judge has been accepted into a misdemeanor intervention program. If attorney Kevin Napper successfully completes the program for first-time offenders, his charge of soliciting another to commit prostitution will be dropped. Napper, who works for the Carlton Fields law firm, is married to Circuit Judge Katherine Essrig. He was arrested Sept. 29 in a prostitution sting, accused of offering a female undercover officer $40 for oral sex . His case was resolved at a court hearing Monday before County Judge John Conrad, court records show. Napper did not attend. He was represented by Adam Schwartz, a Carlton Fields colleague. Napper received the same punishment as other highprofile defendants arrested in similar undercover Drew Park crackdowns.
